Valorant Names and Your Riot ID
In Valorant, your name is your Riot ID: a 3 to 16 character name plus a #tag. Riot supports letters from many alphabets, which is great for players worldwide, but it blocks most decorative symbols and the “math” letters that make bold and script styles work. So frames like ꧁ ꧂ usually fail, while names built from real letters have a chance.
| Where | Fancy text? | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Riot ID name | Partly | Real letters (like é or ǩ) can work; most symbols don’t. |
| #tagline | Partly | 3–5 characters; keep it simple. |
| Team Discord | Yes | Server name, roles and channels. |
| Clips and socials | Yes | Titles, bios and tournament graphics captions. |
Styles Worth Trying in Your Riot ID
- Accented letters like Ǵĥóśť use real letters with marks, so they often pass.
- Small caps like ɢʜᴏꜱᴛ are partly made of phonetic letters; some pass, some don’t.
- Bold, script and gothic are math symbols and are usually rejected in-game, but look great on Discord.
Because you can only change your Riot ID about once a month, check the name in the Riot account settings before you confirm.
Styles for Teams and Content
Outside the game, anything goes. Sniper (▄︻デ══━一), Gamer Tag and Bold Gothic suit the tactical shooter look for team names, clip titles and your squad’s Discord. Keep your in-game name readable so teammates can call you out quickly in comms.
Every style here also works on Discord. The main Discord Fonts generator has Discord-specific tips for names, nicknames and server branding.
