What WhatsApp Can and Canโt Do on Its Own
WhatsApp gives you a handful of formats: wrap a word in asterisks for *bold*, in underscores for _italic_, in tildes for ~strikethrough~, or in three backticks for monospace. Newer versions also turn lines starting with โ- โ or โ1. โ into lists and โ> โ into a quote. Thatโs it. If you want cursive for a birthday message, hearts around a name, or gothic letters in a group title, WhatsApp has no button for it.
The styles on this page fill that gap. They arenโt a font in the usual sense: each letter is swapped for a look-alike Unicode character, like ๐ instead of H. Because theyโre real characters, they keep their look when you paste, forward or screenshot them, and the other person doesnโt need to install anything.

How to Change Your WhatsApp Name to a Stylish Font
- Type your name in the box above and copy the style you like.
- Open WhatsApp, go to Settings and tap your profile photo or name.
- Tap Name, delete the old one, paste the new one and tap Save.
The same steps work for your About line. For a group, open the group, tap its name at the top and then tap the name again to edit it.
Ideas That Work Well

A Few Honest Tips
- Search inside WhatsApp looks for normal letters, so a chat called ๐๐ธ๐ถ wonโt show up when you search โMomโ. Keep at least one plain word in contact and group names you search for often.
- Screen readers canโt read most fancy letters. If someone in your group uses one, keep the important part of the message (times, addresses, amounts) in plain text.
- A styled first word plus a plain sentence looks better than styling everything.
